Take your first order

We'll use the pre-seeded demo catalog so you don't have to type menu items. If you already added your own, skip step 1.

1. Seed the demo catalog

Go to Admin → Menu and click Seed demo catalog. Flat White and Avocado Toast appear.

2. Open a shift

Go to Cashier and click Open shift. A $200 float is assumed — you can change this in Admin → Settings.

3. Take a cash order

Tap Avocado Toast, then Pay cash, then the cash-tendered suggested value. You'll see *Paid. Change due $X.XX*. The cash drawer kicks (on a real bridge; the stub silently no-ops), and the receipt renders to a file under .halopos/bridge-output/.

4. See it in reports

Go to Admin → Reports → Daily summary. Your Avocado Toast order is there, in venue-local time.

5. Close the shift

Back at the Cashier, click Close shift. Enter the counted cash (should match the tendered total + the float). The variance is computed and the shift is reconciled.

That's the full M0 happy path. Add more items, invite staff, or wire a real printer next.
