Acceptable Use Policy

Effective 2026-04-20. Using halopos requires compliance with this policy in addition to our Terms of Service.

1. Prohibited conduct

You must not, and must not permit any user of your tenant to:

  • Use halopos for any purpose that is illegal under Australian law.
  • Attempt to access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the service.
  • Circumvent tenant isolation, rate limits, or audit logging.
  • Upload or process card data directly; EFTPOS adapters must remain the only integration path.
  • Sell or resell access to halopos without a reseller agreement.
  • Misrepresent surcharge amounts to end-customers in breach of the Competition and Consumer Act.

2. Hardware integrations

Hardware adapters must follow the Adapter SDK contract. Adapters that bypass the contract to access tenant data outside their scope (printer, drawer, EFTPOS, scanner) are prohibited.

3. Security research

Good-faith security research is welcome. Please email security@halopos.app before testing. Do not perform denial-of-service testing, and do not access tenant data that is not your own.

4. Enforcement

Violations may result in temporary suspension of the tenant. Severe or repeated violations may result in termination and legal action.
